STATEMENT(CURRENT)

I position myself as a psychologist artist combining psychoanalytic theories with installation, painting, text, video, etc. I like writing, creating stories to give art works a complete narrative background is my unique way of expression. My research is closely related to the spiritual world of human beings. My inspiration comes from my dreams, psychoanalysis, urban cultures, Asian feminism, subcultures in younger groups, and online hot topics. In my works, one part is to explore the spiritual world of people inward, and the other is to explore the connection between real society and human psychology. I like to combine the products of reality with the elements of fantasy, walking between logic and nonlogic to create a ridiculous fake scene to reflect the real existence.

My daily spiritual experience is my starting point. In a fast-paced contemporary society, we have to accept and process countless external information every day, which causes tremendously imperceptible pressure mentally, and how to balance this internal and external disorder has become the problem we are facing. Psychoanalysis believes that the essence of mental illness is that the conflict between consciousness and subconsciousness cannot coexist harmoniously, so I think the exploration of our subconscious activities is very important. Currently, I am working on constructing a world of Hairy-Legs. Hairy-Legs is regarded by me as a bridge to connect to my subconscious. It is a symbol, an absurdity built on rationality. In the process of shaping it, I constantly approach and evoke human’s hidden psychological experience.
